On Sunday 19th Sept 2023 history was created at South Petherton. No one in living memory can recall Merriott winning a representative game with a total of 40 points. After 15 ends, Merriott had scored 30. The rink were promised if they reached 40 they would be rewarded with champagne. After the penultimate end, the score stood at 38.
