Through the winter our greenkeeping team have remained hard at work maintaining the playing surface, cutting, weeding and feeding the grass, and maintaining the other areas.
The green will reopen for bowling on 15th April, and our website is taking registrations from our members for the first games.
We start with our ‘umbrella’ club morning on Monday 21st April (10am), followed by the President’s team v Captain’s team match on 22nd (1.30pm). Our first friendly match is at home against Lyme Regis on Fri 25th April starting at 2.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to come and spectate at these games to get a good idea of how the games are played, but on 26th April between 10.30am and 3.30pm you can come and have a go yourself at our open day, and we can answer all your questions.
With two new coaches ready to help beginners learn the game there is plenty of support, and at Merriott no one is ever pushed to do more than they are comfortable with.
